There are lots of activities going on on the Big Island throughout the month of December. Here are a few of the upcoming ones:

  • Mokuaikaua Church – Completed in 1837, this is the oldest Christian church in Hawaii. Check out their annual Christmas Jubilee craft fair starting at 2:00pm on December 10th. There will be free activities for the kids and lots of holiday shopping to do. At 5:00pm, the party moves outside for the annual Christmas parade, taking place on Alii Drive.
  • Project Hawaii Christmas Wish Program – While on vacation in Hawaii, why not give back to those in need during holiday season? Project Hawaii is hosting its annual Christmas Wish Program through Dec. 23rd, 2011. You can sponsor a homeless Hawaiian Keiki (child) by choosing a wish tag and purchasing a gift, or bring a new, unwrapped gift for the volunteers to distribute. They are located at the Kona International Marketplace.
  • Volcano Art Center – Kill two birds with one stone by visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park anytime between now and Jan. 2, 2012. There, you can check out the Volcano Art Center to view and purchase exquisite and unique holiday crafts, decorations, and gifts. You might also get the chance to see demonstrations, attend a book signing, and more. A great visit in combination with your trip to see that big famous volcano!
