7 Reasons to Have a Destination Wedding

1. You’ll stand out with a spectacular backdrop for photos and/or places for receptions compared to those who stayed home for their wedding.

2. Less effort for you!  When you use the services of a wedding coordinator, they do tons of the detail-oriented fussing that normally falls on the bride’s shoulders.

3. Save money on decorating, venues, and overall costs when you compare the big wedding and reception at home to the destination wedding.

4. See more of the people nearest and dearest to you at this special time and they’ll see more of you.  You’ll probably have everyone together for a warm-up event, the wedding day itself, and often a get-together after. Whether it’s a special activity, dining or whatever, you’ll have more days to spread the joy and special time together when you’re at your destination. Everyone benefits from more downtime, and families have quality time together.

5. Since it costs more to travel to a destination wedding and generally requires more time off to do so, it will limit the guest list.  You can always have a party when you get home so no one feels left out.

6. Choose a day and date that works for you! No need to get married on a Saturday when you’re in paradise, and often it’s better to get married in the middle of the week when the local folk are all at work, and not at the beach.  Have a special date or day that is meaningful to you – sometimes that’s a difficulty when you’re looking for venues at home, but in Hawaii – no problem!

7. The honeymoon is part of the package when you plan a destination wedding in Hawaii .. if you want to go to another property or island after the wedding so you have some down-time together without the family, it’s perfect because you’re already here!

According to a recent poll, over 50% of destination weddings are on a beach.  If you’d like someone else to do most of the work in organizing details, want to have fun with the family and friends who can come, and have a limited budget that would unravel with a big wedding at home, maybe this is for you.

Maybe you don’t need anyone else there – it’s really about the two of you – that makes a destination wedding even better as you roll a wedding and honeymoon into one trip.  Whatever the motivation for you, if a destination wedding sounds best to you, it’s hard to beat the beauty of a Hawaiian backdrop for this special occasion.
