Well, it’s New Year’s Eve Eve… do you have your plans for the big night yet?
If you’re ringing in 2012 in Hawaii, there is a lot of fun stuff you can be doing on each and every island. Talk to your hotel concierge to see what’s going in your area or check with the resort you’re staying at; almost all of them have festivities planned for their guests on New Year’s Eve.
Here are some popular New Year’s Eve Events in Hawaii:
- Fireworks on the beach. What could be more special – or more romantic – than watching fireworks light up the Hawaiian night sky? Many resorts offer fireworks; Waikiki Beach also has them every year. Get in touch with us to see what’s happening in your area.
- New Year’s Eve Luau. There are a lot of luaus to choose from in Hawaii and on New Year’s Eve, many of them have special menus as well as fireworks and, of course, authentic Polynesian entertainment such as hula dancers, fire breathers, live music and singing, and more. Be sure to buy your New Year’s Eve luau tickets well in advance as the most popular shows tend to sell out early.
- Cocktail Cruises and Dinner Cruises. Celebrate with champagne and your first kiss of 2012 aboard a romantic starlit cruise. You’ll get some of the best seats in the house to view the fireworks, plus you can often enjoy lavish dinner buffets and cocktails – including champagne! Some cruises offer open bars or unlimited beer and wine; definitely check before you book. Bonus: you might spot some humpback whales, too!
…but whatever you end up doing, remember to practice saying, “Happy New Year!” in Hawaiian! It goes like this: Hau’oli Makahiki Hou!
