Choosing Where to Stay
There are so many aspects to consider for your tropical escape. We’ll help you determine your ‘must haves’… ‘would be nice if’ … ’not so important’ criteria in finding the most appropriate spot for your ultimate Hawaiian vacation! It’s all about the view – or is it? Think about what you want to see when you look out your window:
- Oceanfront – unobstructed view of the ocean from inside your room
- Partial ocean view – you’ll see blue ocean from your lanai (balcony); how much depends on the property
- Ocean view – lies somewhere in between the first two, you’ll generally see more than just ocean, including other parts of the building or adjacent buildings
Are you most comfortable with modest, deluxe or luxury accommodation choices? Other things to consider are the pool, overall feel of the room, and proximity to golf, tennis, spa and other activities. How many beds? Do you need a kitchen? Do you want privacy? Access to exercise facilities and programs or children’s programs? (Most deluxe accommodations feature a modest spa and exercise area, while luxury properties will feature a renowned spa and extensive exercise facilities.) Dining facilities can also have an impact on where you stay. So too, do seasonal changes, weather and surf conditions, and of course, the budget.
