With its alluring combination of big city culture, rural hideaways, and Polynesian culture, Oahu is the urban center of Hawaii, offering an array of places to visit including:

  • Waikiki beach
  • Pearl Harbor
  • Iolani Palace
  • Hanauma Bay
  • Dole Plantation
  • The North Shore (home to some of the biggest waves in the world during winter season)
  • Kailua Beach Park
  • Open-air markets
  • Championship golf courses

Waikiki Beach

It’s the place to go for unparalleled shopping, exciting activities and a remarkable selection of restaurants. If you’re after sunny beaches and an electrifying nightlife, Waikiki draws visitors from around the world.  Once a playground for Hawaiian royalty, today it is Oahu’s main hotel and resort area, well known for its historic and world class hotels.

Take in a beautiful sunset from the beach, a restaurant or lounge, or even the lanai of your own room.

Beach on east side Oahu

Venture to the island’s north shore and windward sides to discover an entirely different part of Oahu. Quaint beach towns, scenic swimming beaches, and exotic tropical flowers replace the high-rise towers and fast-pace of Honolulu. Beaches in this area have often been named in the top 10 beaches of America.

Winter waves North shore Oahu

The north shore is home to some of the most famous beaches. During summer, the north shore is renowned for its snorkeling and lounging. In winter the north shore is famous for its challenging surf conditions, worldwide surf competitions, and waves that can reach heights of up to 30 feet!

The west shore is an oasis with lagoons, snorkeling tours, excellent swimming and a superb golf course.  It features a resort, condos, time shares and the much anticipated Disney property opening fall 2011.

With everything from bright city lights and famed resorts to bustling beaches, museums, art galleries, and cultural icons, it’s no wonder Oahu is one of the most popular places to visit.
