Molokai

The Friendly Island

A Molokai Waterfall in Halawa Valley

The people of Molokai are proud to tell you this island is the real Hawaii, where “aloha” isn’t just a saying, it’s a way of life. Molokai is an island of beautiful white sand beaches, lush tropical rainforest, and a slow, relaxing pace. A small, rugged, no-frills type of island where adventurers go to explore the rural Hawaiian lifestyle.

Experience a taste of old Hawaii. There is not a single traffic light on the entire island. Enjoy being where the biggest item on your to-do list is to watch the tides roll up and down the beach. Come to rest. Come to relax.

A guided tour gives access to the respected Kalaupapa National Historic Park, located on Kalaupapa Penninsula at the base of the highest seacliffs in the world. It’s famous in Hawaiian history as the leprosy colony assisted by Father Damien (canonized in 2009). Although leprosy no longer poses a threat in America, a small leprosy colony still exists in Kalaupapa to this day.
