Tour Waikiki Historic Trail

Walking tours are one of the great free things to do on Oahu. Tour Waikiki's historic trails to take in some rich Hawaiian culture and history, but you get to work on your tan and get a little exercise, too!

The Waikiki Historic Trail is one of Oahu’s most popular walking tours. It covers 23 amazing sites, most of which are marked by neat, informative, and colorful signs created out of surfboards.

Tour Waikiki

Some of the most popular sites on the Waikiki Historic Trail are:

  • Queen Liliuokalani’s Estate
  • Kapahulu Groin (some of the best summer surfing in the world)
  • Kuhio Beach
  • International Marketplace
  • US Army Museum of Hawaii

The walking tour starts at a section of Waikiki Beach known as Kapiolani Beach Park. From there, you wind through various fascinating sites. The last marker is at Kalakaua Park.

Don’t feel like you have to do the entire Waikiki Historic Trail all in one day! Bring a picnic and be sure to take some time to catch some rays or go for a swim. If you’re staying in the area, it's easy to get out and tour Waikiki by any means necessary.
